I just took up the mandolin after 48 years of classical piano, and this was my first Grey Fox visit. Ron, your lesson was worth the price of admission...I'm now your avid fan. See you next year!

Admin reply: Wow! What a wonderful thing to say. Thanks so much, and good luck with that mandolin. rt

I had the honor of hearing Brian and Dan play at a memorial service in Springfield on monday evening for David Blevins. It was wonderful and i am sure Dave was smiling down from heaven. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us so that we now all have an understanding of why Dave so enjoyed Bluegrass. Claudia Wood [mother-in-law to Julie Blevins Wood]

My Mom and I really enjoyed our first ever visit to Grey Fox. You guys were great as always.
Heidi Clare was a real treat too! WOW! I hated to leave Sunday and miss the last set, but Mom couldn't take the heat. Though the sound was not always perfect -- when you sang -- we never noticed the technical stuff at all! I want to say thanks also because over many years now, your shows have provided a chance for me to spend quality time with my Mom, I do not do that enough. But because we both enjoy your shows so much, it makes it easy for me to stop whatever I'm doing and take road trip with her. We hope to see you in Ohio or Gettysburg in August. Thanks again.

Admin reply: Howdy Mary, I'm so glad you were there and had a chance to visit with your mother as well as enjoy the festival. Grey Fox has always been a great place to share good times and revisit old friends and family members. I enjoy it myself for the same reasons. Thanks for the kind words. RT

Really enjoyed the lessons from both Brian and Ron in the Grass Roots tent at Grey Fox. I'm a beginner mandolin player (although I've been playing guitar and electric bass for quite awhile). Lot of good info in a short amount of time.

Awesome festival in Westcliffe! Thank you so much for the work you all put into it. Loved it all but especially Gary Waldrep Band, Ebony Hillbillies, Little Roy/Lizzie, Lou Reid and Carolina, Heidi Clare and of course our all time favorites DBFS and Sons and Brothers. The tshirts they sold (If you're lucky enough to be at HMHF Festival you're lucky enough)--well, pretty much says it all! What a great weekend.

Admin reply: Howdy Donna, Thanks so much for the kind and supportive note. HMHF sure is rewarding to produce, but it's moreso when we can know that folks like you have truly enjoyed it. RT

What a GREAT group of musicians you guys are .....especially that awsome bass player, Dan Russell!! The rest of you guys aren't so bad either ....just kidding, Ron ...I really think DBFS is one of the greatest Bluegrass groups around today. Ron, thanks for the tip on how to make the arm socks ...they've protected my guitars and have become pretty popular here in Jacksonville, FL. Take care and tell Dan, I said, "Hi" ....hope to catch you the next time you're in Palatka. s/Ben Wentworth

I have been able to catch your show 4 or 5 times in the northern California area. First time at the Father's day festival in Grass Valley and the last time at the "Barn" in Potter Valley, Cal. It seems to me that every time it just gets better! Really enjoyed that rascally cowboy who was harrassing Heidie Clare. He should invest in a better mustache though. Keep the "rants" a commin'. You should probably write a book. Thanks TT

Admin reply: Thanks for the kind words, Tommie; much appreciated. And here (I hear) that cowboy has spent the last several months looking for a worse mustache—a much bigger challenge, I suspect. RT

Hi Guys
We will be in Westcliff on July 10th for all four days. We see you in Springfield IL every year and just love your style. Regards: Dick Revell

Admin reply: Howdy Dick, You sure will be traveling from a long ways away. I thought I'd better mention that if you're coming for all four days, you'll have to be here by the 8th. Please come up and say, "Howdy." RT

I have been a fan of this group for a very long time. The first time I ever had the pleasure of hearing you was at a small festival in West Virginia, passed Morgantown. The festival doesnt exist any more, but my love for this group has lived on. I havent had a chance to see you perform sinse then, but always will be a loyal fan. Keep up the good work.

Admin reply: That sure was a long time ago that you're talking about. I'm glad you remember. I hope we cross paths again soon. RT
